CLASS VI Benign Water Diver (8m)

This course is registered and accredited by the South African Department of Employment and Labour (SA DoEL). It prepares the occupational diver to work using Standard Air SCUBA (Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus) and imposes limitations on the diver to work within a "tank or pool artificially constructed for the purpose of diving or for use as an aquarium or aquaculture, where the diver is in full view from the surface or viewing windows at all times, there is no significant risk of entanglement or entrapment; and the the water does not exceed 8m." This course is run over 3 weeks and is perfectly designed to prepare the diver for work in aquariums as a service diver/aquarist or in constructed aquaculture farms. CLASS V Scientific SCUBA Air Diver (30m)

This course is registered and accredited by the South African Department of Employment and Labour (SA DoEL). It prepares the occupational diver to work using Standard Air SCUBA (Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus). This course standard was designed to prepare the diver to work in the marine science industry. It is commonly run in conjunction with a marine science diploma/degree/doctorate programme. It is not a certification in marine science but rather certifies the student as a diver and prepares them to dive safely and competently in support of their study/work as a marine scientist and certifies the diver to a maximum depth of 30m. CLASS IV Commercial SCUBA Air Diver (30m)

This course is registered and accredited by the South African Department of Employment and Labour (SA DoEL). It prepares the occupational diver to work using Commercial Air SCUBA (Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus) - this utilises full face diving masks and underwater communications systems and certifies the diver to a maximum depth of 30m. With the use of Commercial SCUBA, the diver is able to participate in a larger scope of work safe practices and expands the scope of work to conduct slightly more technical inspection/construction/subsea intevention diving practices that CLASS VI and V allow. This is a 4 week course and is the most common course to start a career as an occupational commercial diver. Please feel free to contact us for more information on this course.

CLASS III Surface Supplied (SSDE) Air Diver (30m)

This course is registered and accredited by the South African Department of Employment and Labour (SA DoEL). It introduces the occupational diver to work using Surface Supplied Diving Equipment (SSDE) on air to a maximum depth of 30m. The diver is trained using the most common diving helmets utilised in the commercial diving industry today and this course prepares the diver to participate in a variety of commercial diving industry marine civils work practices. This course is run over 4 weeks and is the South African standard starting point to become a career surface supply helmet commercial diver. This course is acceptable to begin a career in the INSHORE DIVING INDUSTRY within South Africa

SOUTH AFRICAN INSHORE CAREER PREPARATION PROGRAMME - CLASS IV & III COMBINED

For most divers eager to start a career in occupational commercial diving in the SOUTH AFRICAN INSHORE MARINE CIVILS DIVING INDUSTRY, the combination of both the Class IV and III Courses is a common and popular training choice. It is run over an 8 week period and prepares the diver to cast a "wider net" when applying for work within South Africa. ***COMING SOON TO CDT*** - CLASS II Surface Supplied (SSDE) Air Diver (50m)

This course is registered and accredited by the South African Department of Employment and Labour (SA DoEL). This course expands on what is taught during Class III and intriduces the diver to decompression diving procedures (in order to achieve such depths) as well as various modes of diver launch and recovery systems and procedures (the diver will be introcuded to wetbell diving during this course among other acceptable systems - stages/cages/etc). The diver will be trained in the operation of recompression chambers commonly used in the commercial diving industry and is the most popular South African certification for work-elligibility in the OFFSHORE OIL and GAS INDUSTRY.
